1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing BTU to Watts (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Intended use
The Site provides power-unit conversion tools and educational content. Results are for estimation, comparison, and learning. They are not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, code-compliant design documents, or manufacturer specifications.
Acceptable use
- Personal use for HVAC sizing research, coursework, and curiosity.
- Commercial use such as contractor quoting and engineering estimates, with independent verification.
- Educational use in classrooms and training programs.
3. No professional advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional engineering, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, financial, or legal advice. Always consult a licensed professional for decisions that affect safety, compliance, or significant expense.
4. Accuracy and updates
The Site uses the standardized conversion factor 1 BTU/hr = 0.29307107 W and related SI-derived ratios. We take care to display accurate numbers, but we do not warrant that every value shown is free of error. Rounding, browser floating-point behavior, and equipment-specific assumptions can introduce small differences.
We may change tool behavior, content, or features at any time without notice.
5. Intellectual property
The Site, its content, code, design, and visualizations are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted. Republishing, redistributing, or scraping the Site without written permission is not.
You may

6. User-submitted content
If you email the team or submit a contact form, you grant us the right to use your message to respond to you, improve the Site, and (in aggregated, de-identified form) describe trends. We do not publish personal email contents.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site — including incorrect sizing decisions, equipment failures, construction errors, or lost profits.
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.
8. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party pages for reference. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external site.
